UNDERSTANDING MAGISTRATES’ WORK
Magistrate Garry Hiskey, 2003. Magistrates hear about 98% of the criminal cases and about 90% of the civil cases in courts in Australia. This thesis provides an analysis of what magistrates do in court and their understanding of this work.
